Her parents, Minnie May McKey and Roy Verlon Plemmons, divorced while Nora was still very young. On 24 May 1928, she married Willie Cleveland "Bilbo" Blalock in Liberty, Amite, Mississippi. Nine children, six sons and three daughters, were born to this marriage.
The traits that describe Nora are: kind, hard-working, soft-spoken, and dedicated to family and church. She was one who quietly went about serving the needs of others. She and her husband lived about two miles southeast of Liberty on Highway 584. Up until the time of her death, 11 May 1968 (the eve of Mother's Day), Nora served her family and friends without thought of her own needs. She died at Field's Hospital in Centreville of a blood clot to the vital organs. |
