They traveled in a company of 249 saints from the Scandinavian Mission. They then sailed to Copenhagen, where 346 more saints joined the company. From there, they sailed to Liverpool, England, where they were joined by 113 British saints and 20 returned missionaries. They sailed to the United States on the Wisconsin, leaving on July 10, 1880. They arrived in New York (coming through Ellis Island) on July 20 of the same year.

Letter received 25 Feb. 1997 from Ethel Jensen Woolsey
I had written Ethel about the above picture and the parents of Dorthea Marie Jensen. The following are excerpts taken from Ethel’s letter.
Dear Alice Jo,
Neither Gertrude Marie Hansen nor Karen Marie Andreasen is right. She was Grandma Jensen’s Mother and she came to Utah with Grandpa and grandma. Her name is Ane [Anne] Marie Andersen [Anderson] and is buried by them in Spring City Utah where they settled in 1880. They did their own Temple work.
Grandpa Niels Christian Jensen’s Mother [Gertrude Marie Hansen] never came to the United States. After Grandpa’s Father [Jen Nielsen] died she remarried and
I do not remember how many more children she had.
I am letting my nieces and nephews copy what I have. I [Alice Jo] received a Family Names Tracking List from Nephew Glenn M. Jensen 3189 Terrace View Circle, S.L.C. Utah 84109 - address as of March 8, 2000. I do not have a dish.

Letter Received 29 November 1992 from Ethel Jensen Woolsey
The following are excerpts taken from the letter.
Dear Alice Jo,
My son is putting all the lines I have on a dish and it will be correct as there sure was a lot of mistakes on my Mothers line [Dorthea Marie Jensen] and also on Dad’s line [Niels Christian Jensen], anyway they had her parents Jens Christen Peterson and her Mother Karen Marie Andreasen which is all wrong.
Dorthea Marie Jensen’s Mother is Ane Andersen and grandma Andersen came with them to Spring City and she died there and is buried by the side of Grandma and Grandpa Jensen. The record also had Grandpa’s mother as Bodil Nielsen, which is wrong.
Her name is Gertrud Marie Hansen also they had two dead children more than what they had. In my father’s name Niels they had Nield, which is not, a Danish name so on this dish it will all be corrected like it should be and is correct.
I cannot imagine who sent in sheet like that, and not try and send to the library to see if it was true are not. I am having the library take a copy of my dish so it will cancel out all the others in there. I am sending what I wrote about grandpa and grandma Jensen.
